Berkeley Jazz School students improvise in the groove, combining elements of jazz, soul and folk in a set of eclectic originals and tasty covers, featuring Henry Moser on guitar and vocals, Tommy O’Mahoney on bass and Zach Partridge on drums.

 12:00PM: LORETTA LYNCH
This outstanding band has just released its 3rd cd: "Home Fires," and it’s dark, bittersweet, comic, toe-tapping, heart-zapping and thigh-slapping. In the words of Nate Seltenrich of the East Bay Express, “Loretta Lynch plays the sort of California country-lover's country that has no past, as if it rolled in on a wave one day and set up shop. Buttery vocal harmonies and wary rhythms convey timeless tales about heartbreak, coming home, and growing old that still manage to sound utterly modern.”
 2:00PM: ERIC & SUZY THOMPSON
These virtuoso roots musicians specialize in the down-home sounds of the American South. Their musical palette includes Appalachian story-songs and bluegrass breakdowns, classic country blues, Louisiana Cajun dance music, and paso dobles from Puerto Rico. Eric's flatpicking on guitar and mandolin is exceptional for its purity of tone, speed, and soulfulness; Suzy is a powerful singer, an award-winning fiddler and Cajun accordion player who has apprenticed with older generation Louisiana Cajun musicians under an NEA Fellowship. Founding members of many influential roots music groups including the Black Mountain Boys, Any Old Time, the Klezmorim, and the California Cajun Orchestra, Eric and Suzy have also worked with Jerry Garcia, Maria Muldaur, David Grisman, Peter Rowan, Darol Anger, Laurie Lewis, the Savoy Doucet Cajun Trio, the Texas Sheiks and many other fine musicians.
