The KPFA Crafts Fair features live music both days in the Mezzanine Food Court. There will be plenty of room there to sit, relax, and enjoy the music:

Saturday Schedule, December 11th
12:00PM - Mikie Lee Prasad
Prasad plays acoustic guitar, performs vocal based Americana/Roots music and lives the life of a troubadour. He has co-hosted the Monday Blues jam with the Steve Gannon band at Blake’s in Berkeley, as well as Acoustic Wednesdays at Blake’s. Mikie has played a variety of gigs in the Philippines, and has loaned his talents to several local blues bands in England. He’s toured solo and with Maria Muldaur and Heavy Petting Zoo. Mikie has played most Bay Area clubs including Bimbo’s, the Great American Music Hall, Slim’s, the Boom Boom Room, and Bottom of the Hill. Recently he has recorded, produced and mixed The Shambles sophomore CD and the Handsome Family cover album.
2:00PM - Alex McMurray
Alex is one of the hardest working men in New Orleans Show-biz, founding The Tin Men with sousaphone virtuoso Matt Perrine and washboard legend "Washboard" Chaz Leary, with whom he also founded the intimate alternative to New Orleans’ Jazz & Heritage Festival, “Chazfest.” His other band, 007, specializes in the rocksteady style of Jamaican pop from the late sixties. He also records as a solo artist, and his sophomore effort titled "How To Be a Cannonball" took "Album Of The Year" honors at the 2010 Big Easy Awards in New Orleans. He currently plays and records regularly with a host of New Orleans musicians: The Happy Talk Band, Ingrid Lucia, Paul Sanchez, Schatzy, The Jackals and The Geraniums and the Valparaiso Men’s Chorus.

12:00PM - Steve Gannon Band
London-born guitarist Steve Gannon came to Oakland in1982, jumping into the local blues scene, working in bands with J.J. Malone, Eddie Ray and Sonny Rhodes. He spent 6 years as guitarist in Troyce Keys' houseband at Oakland's 'Eli Mile High Club' where he accompanied artists such as Lowell Fulson, Jimmy McCracklin, Buddy Ace, Sugar Pie DeSanto and Charlie Musselwhite, and almost fifteen years hosting the popular 'Blue Monday' jam-session at Larry Blake's in Berkeley, jamming with drop-in players like Ike Turner, Irma Thomas, Joe Louis Walker, & Harvey Mandel. In recent years he has toured the U.S. with Sonny Rhodes and Lady Bianca, McCracklin and Sugar Pie DeSanto. For the last four years he has been a member of the Craig Horton Blues Band with whom he has recorded and toured extensively both domestically and abroad. His two albums: 'Oaktown' and '52 Ford'.
2:00PM - Ancient Future
Formed in 1978 by Matthew Montfort, Ancient Future is the first and longest running musical organization dedicated exclusively to the mission of creating and elevating awareness of world fusion, by presenting traditional music from the cultures of the individual master musicians who perform with the band. Over the years, Ancient Future has grown to include 28 members from around the world, forming a kind of global chamber ensemble, and has thus expanded its musical and cultural influences, including Slavik, South American, African, Indian, Asian and Arabic music.
