Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) connects the San Francisco Peninsula with Oakland, Berkeley, Fremont, Walnut Creek, Dublin/Pleasanton and other cities in the East Bay. For more than 35 years BART has provided fast, reliable transportation to downtown offices, shopping centers, tourist attractions, entertainment venues, universities and other destinations for Bay Area residents and visitors alike.

East Bay Express

The East Bay counties are very different from the rest of the San Francisco Bay Area, the East Bay Express is a very different paper. Every week, the Express provides the only medium dedicated exclusively to the East Bay. From our authoritative cover stories; to our in-depth local reporting, arts and dining coverage; to the area's most comprehensive weekly calendar; the East Bay Express has been this vibrant region's leading voice since 1978.

SF Weekly

SF Weekly is San Francisco's smartest publication. That's because we take journalism seriously, but not so seriously that we let ourselves be guided by an agenda. In fact, we cherish our political independence: The paper has repeatedly challenged massive public subsidies for private developments by leading San Francisco business interests--but it has also blamed liberal political advocates for fostering inhumane conditions at a city jail. Add to our array of public-interest stories a comprehensive entertainment guide--led by incisive, award-winning writing on the cultural scene--and you'll see why SF Weekly has acquired a loyal audience of active, urban professionals, an audience as diverse as the city we cover.

Community Works
CW believes that the arts and education can serve as valuable platforms for achieving this goal, incorporating personal expression, alliance-building, and public engagement. CW is particularly concerned with the effects of soaring incarceration rates on communities, impacting not only the offending individuals but also families, neighbors, and survivors of crime. CW links up with the institutions that most affect our constituents’ lives, including the criminal and juvenile justice systems, the public school system, and other community-based organizations, in order to provide enriching, sustainable programs that work to bring communities together.

Mr. Espresso
My love affair with espresso coffee goes back to when I was a young man in my hometown of Salerno, Italy, where I worked for the Nestler Coffee Roasting Plant. The proprietor, a master of coffee roasting, made me his protege. With great generosity and personal pride, he taught me all his skills, from bean selection to blending. Most importantly, he taught me his method of roasting with oak wood. When I came to America, I discovered there were few places I could get a good espresso. I saw this opportunity to implement all my skills in coffee roasting and founded Mr. Espresso in 1978. I happily bring to America the tradition of the European masters.
